Contact Roosevelt Park Pre-Primary School

Since 1956, Roosevelt Park Pre-Primary School has been providing independent, quality preschool education to our community, led by a passionate team of qualified and specialised Early Childhood Development educators.

Driven by the ECD philosophy that children ‘learn through play,’ and using various teaching methods including Montessori and Reggio, we pride ourselves on growing independent, confident, happy, creative thinkers who go on to thrive in higher-level education. Following the 4-term private school calendar, and with small class sizes suitable for each age group, we are able to give each child the individual attention they need to soar.

We are a fully independent, stand-alone, accredited nursery school, and a registered member of the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA).

65+ years

of developmental fun, experimenting, creating and getting dirty to stimulate expanding young minds into curious humans, ready to take on Primary School.

Our Values

Roosevelt Park Pre-Primary School

OUR KIDS

OUR KIDS

We welcome children from ages 18 months to 6 years.

Our toddler group (of a maximum of 14 children) is offered between 3 and 5 days a week, and these little ones enjoy their own playground, as well as a dedicated teacher’s assistant who works alongside their experienced teacher. The toddler group welcomes those who are still in nappies and potty training.

From ages 3 to 6 (Grade R), our kids attend school full-time, where we strive to give them a safe, stimulating, creative, and dynamic start, readying them for Grade 1.

We are proud to act as a feeder school for multiple fantastic Public and Private schools in Johannesburg. Historically, Roosevelt Park Pre-Primary children have gone on to thrive at various Primary schools, including Blairgowrie Primary School, De La Salle Holy Cross College, Craighall Primary School, Auckland Park Preparatory, and Parkview Junior School.

Our standard school hours are from 07h45 to 12h30, with aftercare available until 16h00.

We are inclusive of children with different abilities, and do what we can to provide them with a holistic, nurturing, richly resourced pre-primary environment.

OUR TEACHERS

are a team of qualified, highly experienced, passionate professionals who hold our school values extremely close to their hearts.

With over 80 years of combined ECD experience, our teachers are dedicated to nurturing little minds through innovative ideas, and are proud to be united in our vision of enabling our kids to learn through play.

On my first visit ever to RPPS I immediately felt the warm, family-to-family like culture, not only from the staff but fellow parents too. Teachers were managing their classes with calm and reassuring interactions and the general hum of the school was one of contentment and happiness. I knew that if that was my experience not only as a qualified teacher but now as a mom of three, that my children would get to experience the same feeling.

My child was 18 months when she started at RPPS and she adapted really well, thanks to the comfort and safety she feels whilst at school. Teacher Boni has a gentle manner but guides her in the right direction. I believe the teachers’ approach has made my child more confident and outgoing.

I loved this school! RPPS has given my boys the grounding and confidence to thrive through primary school and high school at De La Salle Holy Cross College. They not only “Learnt Through Play”, but the school let them discover their independence and problem-solving thinking from such an early age. This has aided their achievements in both school and life. As an inclusive and compassionate environment, it instilled values in my boys, of which I am really proud. I will always be grateful for their time at RPPS.
